Yes, greatest thing ever! But it did take us 5-6 months to get it figured out. I don't think he was strong enough until that point.

We tried a few times, but we couldn't get comfortable. Once we figured out that DS had reflux issues, that ended our efforts.

We don't co-sleep regularly, but I do this every morning for the first feeding and on the few occasions that co-sleeping is necessary. It didn't really click until 3 months or so. I think she was a little too small before then. I love it, but now LO likes to nurse for a llloooonnnggg time in this position, and it can be painful.

I do this 75% of the time, and I am a huge cosleeper. I also have huge boobs, and we've never had any suffocation issues. Snuggling and nursing to sleep is one of the best parts of mothering, for me. I'm actually getting really fed up with the toll that extended nursing on demand is taking on my body, but it's worth it, just for the lovely nursing snuggles.

All the time - it was the only way I got any sleep. I was so scared of cosleeping but in reality it was what was best for us when I was nursing. I was always hyper-aware of him next to me.
And never any issues transitioning to crib. He goes right to sleep when I lie him down.

Yep, we did this. I was anti cosleeping at first because of fear, but the more I did it, the more awesome it became. One of my favourite times was when DH would go get the baby at her first morning waking and bring her to bed to nurse. All three of us would cuddle and snooze and DD would munch away.

Just like @hilsy85 I do this for our first morning session. It's so comfy! Just be careful.. we had a blowout poop yesterday and it went through his sleeper, our sheet, and on to our waterproof mattress bed bug cover thing (which thank goodness we had since our mattress is brand new!)

LO has reflux and needs to be kept upright during/after feedings so this isn't an option for us : ( I wouldn't do it at night anyway because I'm anti co sleeping but I would love to be able to do it for our first morning session.

Yes but I don't fall asleep, I pull her off the boob after about 10 minutes and she sleeps while I hold her next to me. I never move while I sleep, and every hour or so I look at her to make sure she's okay.

I did this from month 2-4. I only stopped because we are sleep training. I was always pretty aware of where she was next to me and was more worried about blankets flopping on her than myself rolling onto her. I just kept the blankets really low and away from her and like other posters, I wouldn't do this if I was drinking or taking medications.

I didn't do it for middle of the night feedings, but would frequently do it for first morning feedings and we would fall asleep that way sometimes.
I never sleep very soundly or comfortably when he is next to me so even if I dozed off I feel okay that I would wake up if he was in trouble.

I do this too. But beware, because it can be addicting. My daughter loves it sooo much because she can easily access the breast. She actually ends up feeding a lot more frequently on nights we co-sleep.
I have fallen asleep numerous times like this, but since LO is 7 months she can reposition herself. When she was smaller & co-sleep, I would put pillows around her so I wouldn't roll onto her. Or I would also use pillow as barrier. I would sleep high in pillow so that the pilow would prevent her from getting too close to me at nite (she always tries to get as close to me as possible when she's asleep)

I do this on weekends (I usually nurse her in the nursery when the hubs has to get up for work)... but when it's Saturday and Sunday, hubs brings her into bed with us when she wakes up, I nurse her, and we all cuddle together until she starts fussing (which is usually only 5 minutes or so!).

I nurse him to sleep like this and throughout the night. It's super convenient because when he wakes up he can nurse and I barely (if ever) wake up. I also love the way he curls his body up to mine and uses my head as a pillow.

I was freaked out by co-sleeping at first, but being close to me like that was the only way he'd fall (and stay) asleep. I don't sleep as deeply as I normally do, and I almost always wake up in the exact same position I fall asleep in. I'm not worried about suffocating him...I keep the blanket mostly away from him and don't get into bed drunk. If anything, it's a tiny bit annoying because he's become a bit of a bed hog :)

I coslept for 4 months and I think that the waking up freaking out thing is proof that you're in tune and would wake up if anything happened. I think if you avoid any drugs or alcohol you'll be fine but it's largely about what you're comfortable with.
