There have been a few that were just recently posted with the same question. I wish I would remember to search first. There was one about SAHM's I posted and I guess I didn't use the right wording, so in that case, yes I regret that one. I try and think if it will become an issue before posting.

I HATE when I get answers that have nothing to do with my question. For example (this didn't happen but similar situation did): "how do you assemble this specific jumperoo that I alteady own?" And I'll get answers like "oh I don't have that jumperoo your asking about but I am going to suggest you go out & get this entirely different jumperoo!"
Seriously?

Only if I forget to search before posting. I hate creating threads that are similar to a recent thread. Besides that I generally think before I post. I don't *think* I've started any drama llama posts?!

@mediagirl: thanks! :) I have a pretty tough skin, so that definitely helps. I've done a lot of internet foruming in my day so I'm pretty used to it happening. I guess, this is one of the only sites where I feel like I really need to "try" to fit in! Which is silly, because it's just the same as any other forum, just nicer! I guess I'm just really used to not so nice forums and lots of swearing. hahaha

@.twist.: awww. :) Sometimes threads just go unnoticed - especially if they happen on postathon days or days when people are posting like crazy! (I feel that way, too!)

A couple of times I have started threads and they have gotten messy and political and I totally didn't mean for that to happen. Those are ones I regret.

@PrincessBaby: you have a great attitude. I think I need to develop a thicker skin for the internet.

@Happygal: I had to go look sanctimommy up and it made me laugh! Yes that is an awesome term. And I love how it ties it to "alpha female." It's not my thing to be a sanctimommy, but the ones who are certainly get my attention. ETA: wiki I was referring to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctimommy

Hehe. I'm gonna start a thread entitled "artificial sweeteners are worse for you than rat poison".

I am a wayyyy oversharer when it comes to the internet so I am constantly trying to check myself when it comes to Hellobee. I hate hate hate confrontation, especially when it comes to hot-button, polarizing topics (religion! politics! artificial sweeteners!) so I rarely even comment on threads like those, let alone start them!!

I do have my fair share (or maybe a fairly big share?) of foot-in-mouth moments though.

I haven't regretted starting anything, but mine have all been pretty straight forward questions at this point.

@T-Mom and @Ladyfingers: I had to go check out that thread. I heard the phrase "sanctimommy" the other day, and that came to mind when reading it. Yeah, I would regret starting that one.

I agree with others about trying not to take things too personally, although I'm not sure what is more personal than how people choose to raise their children. I studied online communities when I was in graduate school, and spent a lot of time in other online groups. I can tell you that HelloBee is by far the most respectful group I've seen.

@T-Mom: thank you;). Yeah that one and a few others that I started about wanting to lose baby weight.

I decided not to post anything anymore about what I'm eating/not eating, or about exercise while BFing bc I felt a little attacked sometimes or that my Mom abilities and priorities were being questioned....But I know it all came from a place of good intentions! I just won't be sharing on certain topics anymore:).

I am not brainstormy enough to start many threads but I have regretted some in the past! I remember posting a thread asking about putting a crib near a baseboard heater and really, no one replied. I remember thinking people probably thought I was a world class idiot and endangered my baby, but seriously - almost all the wall space in our apartment has a baseboard heater! Valid question.

@mrsjazz: haha I always feel lame. I feel like this community is very crunchy (Which is good! I like it!) but I am soooo far from crunchy and feel like I'll get judged for some of my more controversial opinions. So I just try to keep it light, and usually that means, I kill my own threads.

@MrsTiz: Awesome response! I agree! Even if the thread sounds stupid, or you get stuff wrong who cares!! Maybe someone will stumble across it with the same ideas as you, and learn something!

Plus it's always fun to see new threads to get conversations going!

I try not to take comments too personally. First just because when you read comments online, you never exactly know the tone. So if you think someone is trying to be snotty, but really they aren't have they have a kind heart going into it, I would never want to jump on someone when I misinterpreted their point!

Only if nobody comments or it's about something I'm all alarmed about before posting it -- like I felt something weird or had pink mucus -- and then it ends up being nothing and I'm like wow, I am a total paranoid freak.

I don't really post controversial threads though, or anything that I couldn't handle a negative response on. I feel like if you're posting something to get people's opinions, you need to kinda be prepared for... people's opinions. ;)

@.twist.: ditto!

I start them sometimes because I just thought of something to keep conversation flowing here, annnnd then my thread is wrong. I'm sure we're all familiar with the thread where I got like, every single state wrong. Or maybe the one where I mentioned all the actors I miss seeing, who all had a movie/show come out within the last year. lol!

Most of the time I don't regret them though, because even if people get snooty about their sugars, maybe someone else learned something useful from it or got a question answered. Hey, at least we know what topics to avoid with certain users now :)
