If someone shot a rude comment directly to me, I would seriously make a scene. I have no patience for in-your-face rudeness. My husband is embarrassed at how gangster I can be when I'm angry. But if the lady was just giving me dirty looks or something (without actually saying anything), then I would probably hurry and eat so we could leave.

My daughter was about 8 months old and we were inside a local bbq restaurant with my inlaws. My father in law was giving Libby-Jane some water from his straw and an old lady walked by and started yelling at him for giving such a young baby soda. I was already in fine form (spending time with my inlaws is not my favorite past time )so I just looked at her with a blank expression on my face and said "Excuse me Ms is this your child?" She kinda stuttered no at me and I cut her off and said "This is my child and not that its any of your business but there is nothing wrong with her grandfather giving her some water to drink, now please kindly go back to where you came from and leave us alone". I'm pretty sure I caught her off guard lol..

I am sure I will most likely be the mom that will take my child out of a situation if he throws a fit out of respect for others. However, babies cry. It's a fact of life.

With all that said, I have a big mouth, so I would have without a doubt said something in that situation! I already call people out for their rudeness for not saying a simple 'excuse me' when we are out. I have zero patience for rudeness, but I am trying hard to realize that people in this town are some of the rudest around and I can't change them.

I've never had anyone say anything because my LO is so happy most of the time and if she does get tired I leave, BUT if I had been in that situation, I would have told someone to take LO out and got to work on that woman. My 1st priority is to keep LO safe, but that bitchness calls for a defense.

Even at.family restaurants I'm always super sensitive to ds's volume and mood. I HATE to be the mom of the crying baby. I'm quick to get up and leave or walk around if ds cries. But I am also quick to say something if someone throws a mean comment my way. I'm trying so hard to be considerate and you have the gall to.be rude to me? I said something once to an older woman at friendly's once when ds was like 6 months old.

That woman sounds like a real b!tch. I would probably given her a piece of my mind. Asked her if her children were perfect everytime they were out in public. Or just have told her to get stuffed.

I'm way too shy to say anything. And luckily we haven't had to yet. My husband and FIL almost got in a fight with a lady about our dog though. We were sitting outside of a fro yo place and had the dog and baby. She was afraid of dogs and our pup had snuck near her while my FIL got distracted and she freaked out. 1. My pup is the sweetest dog ever and 2. It was an accident. He didn't even get close to her. So she freaked out and screamed at us, and said that they shouldn't allow animals there. My MIL said something like, "than you wouldn't be allowed." Meanwhile the lady was smoking around all sorts of kids and babies.

Oh my god. I would have hit her. Honestly I probably would have given an apology and tried to get RJ quiet, or maybe icily ignored her or shot her a dirty look. But what I would really like to say if I had the balls (or was in a really bad mood that day) is "if you didn't want to hear loud kids, you should not have come to this family restaurant to eat. There are plenty of other restaurants around that are geared towards adults only. So YOU're the one WE should be complaining about."

Wow, what a bitch. It hasn't happened to me yet and I'm sure I would have been so shocked by her rudeness to say anything. However, if I had my wits about me I would be overly sweet and say something like, "I'm so sorry my LO's crying is upsetting your dinner. She's a little fussy right now but I'm sure you understand seeing as you have children of your own and must remember how unpredictable they are when they were babies."

Definitely would have given that woman a piece of my mind!
But when DH is with me I usually let him handle it. Once we were at the park and he was swinging with LO strapped to his body in the Ergo.
Some moms were staring and talking crap about DH and saying he was crazy for swinging with the baby (she was 7-8 months old I think and he wasn't swinging high or anything).
He got off the swing and confronted the women! I was shocked bc I was recording on my phone and had no idea what was going on until DH told me what they had said.

We were eating at a family restaurant the other day when my LO started to cry. She wasn't hungry or wet so I tried giving her a pacifier which she batted away. The woman in the booth behind me turned towards me and told me to "give that baby a pacifier already" and then complained loudly about my LO to her husband and kids. I was annoyed but I didn't say anything to her...

Do you respond to strangers in situations like this?
