We never do. I usually find that he'll settle down within minutes or seconds if we don't go in. But every child is different. If my son cries for a while I'll probably go in to see what's going on, especially if it's unusual for him to cry for so long, especially these days at 33 months old.

I haven't but I would if she needed me. I'm a sucker for my baby girl!

I haven't and I am not sure it's a habit I want to start. I do "break the rules" when my son is sick, but when he's awake, especially in the morning, we get up for the day. I go to sleep earlier to be able to get the hours of sleep I need.

The only time I sleep next to LO (ie. on the floor beside her crib) is in the morning when it's 6am and she's up but I'm still half asleep dying for a few more minutes (ie. 30 minutes). I'll turn on her watchumacallit (Baby Einstein aquarium soother?) and it'll amaze/entertain her for a few minutes as I lie down on the ground and pass out :)

Charlie woke up a little while ago, and was calling out for half an hour: "Come, daddy, come!!!"

After 25 minutes of this, I caved and dragged my pillow and blanket into his room to sleep on the floor next to him. He settled down instantly! I guess he was just sick and wanting some comfort.
