I've briefly felt like this if LO is napping for a long time and I'm just blogging or drinking tea or something. I really don't have much time away from her - but I definitely forget sometimes!

YES. Every time I am around other adults, I just forget. The other day, I m sitting in my graduate class and the professor asked who has kids. I didn't raise my hand! And then 10mins later i'm like, "oh crap! Yes, I do actually!"
Mom of the year award goes to moi!

I read the title of this and thought, "that sounds like one of the luxuries of working..." I felt like I was never able to get enough distance to forget it during LO's first year, but now that I'm able to get out more often, it happens every now and then (like on my girl's day out for my birthday). It's kind of a nice feeling!

@BakerBee: Ahh, lovely - I loved the second trimester! I hope you're feeling great! I don't think you have anything to worry about, there - I, personally, am more *me* than I ever have been before. You do have less time for yourself, that's a given, but the time you do have you value a lot more and use it to the max.

@BakerBee: well...I have a 7.5 month old and I feel exactly the same as pre-pregnancy. Except fatter, more tired, and frumpier with worse hair and less makeup.

@Cherrybee: 17 weeks... I probably should be past the point of forgetting. As an aside, I love reading that you don't feel like you have completely changed with having a baby. While I'm okay with changing some, I'm nervous that I'll completely lose myself once the baby gets here.

@BakerBee: Ba-hahaha!!! How many weeks are you?

@Foodnerd81: Thanks!! Feeling like your old self is so nice but such a strange experience. I guess I just thought that I'd change when I had my baby but I haven't at all! I'm still exactly the same me!

Awww! I have had brief moments like that. I left C with DH on Saturday and went downtown to do some shopping and get a massage (overdue from my birthday in January!) and for a few minutes, just felt like my old self.
I'm glad being back at work is going so well!

I don't have specific experience on the parent part, but I sometimes forget that I'm pregnant. We were at the lake this past weekend and I was on the dock and told my husband that I could really go for a few margaritas... he reminded me that I'm pregnant.

Going back to work has been a positive experience for me, in the main. Of course, some days I miss my girl so much I literally pine for her but most days I just feel like my old self again, doing the things I used to do but with an awesome reason to rush home at the end of the day!

But yesterday I had the strangest experience! I was driving to work and I drove past this adorable little girl, holding (I presume) her dad's hand, crossing the road. She couldn't have been more than 2 years old and she was just the cutest little thing. I said (out loud to myself, as I drove past) "Aaw, I want one" and then, a fair few seconds later, I remembered - I have one!!!! My heart just swelled, remembering my girl!!!

Has that ever happened to anyone else? It was really weird!!
