It's on a busy street, and my parents had a restaurant on the first floor while we lived on the second floor. I don't have fond memories of it. They downsized to a smaller house right next to my mom's job, so she could easily go back and forth to check on my dad. Then she sold the small house when he passed, and she moved cross country.</p> <p>I've never even been back to the town where I grew up. It's so far away and hard to get there. It was never fancy but it's terrible now. We moved when I was a teen and my parents still live there. It will be weird when they move. I recently visited the house my grandparents lived in for over 50 years. It was really weird to see it and not walk inside. If I'm ever in a city where I lived, I try to go see the house we lived in! I find it so interesting to see the houses from when I was younger; I'm someone who has very vivid memories of physical places...where stairs were, what tree was outside, the neighbor's porch.
