Never ever ever ever do I wake a sleeping baby unless absolutely necessary! Mine don't nap much though, if at all, so when they do, we all need it!

I did yesterday! LO is almost 3 and stubborn. She stayed awake in her room (pretty much) for the two hours of quiet/nap time, but then fell asleep lying on the floor next to the door right before her clock turned green to let her out. I woke her up about 90 minutes later since it was so late!

I have in the past when LO1 would try to sleep more than 3 hours just because it would really mess up bedtime and he would actually sleep way less and night and wake up crazy early the next day.

I used to have to when we were taking 2 naps a day, but now that we have moved to just one I don't. I do have to fight like crazy to keep him awake in the car if we leave the house before nap time though.

Not if I can at all help it! E is an absolute nightmare if she gets woken up from a nap, and I mean a NIGHTMARE. Both girls are pretty good sleepers and even if their naps run late, they still generally go to bed at the same time, so I let them nap as late as they want. And I try my hardest to never wake them to go somewhere....hence why we're late to a lot of places :-/

@Bao: no. My girls never nap well, so it usually signals that they're getting sick or going through a growth spurt.

Yes we usually have to wake her from every nap or else she'd sleep forever. She has two hour nap in morning and one hour in afternoon. She's 15 months. I think we will be working towards just one nap soon.

I don't wake her up from naps and it does mess with bedtime, but that is because her schedule is naturally sleeping later in the evening (averages 9 hours at night) and taking long naps (3-4 hours). Waking her up just means disaster and she won't sleep longer at night, even if she sleeps earlier. I've given in, and just enjoy the extra time with her!

Never ever if we don't have anything planned. But it also never interferes with her bedtime! She's got such long days during the week because of our work/commute times, so I try to maximize her sleep as much as possible on the weekends.

I almost always have to wake up DS from naps, he can easily nap more than three hours (and he's almost 4!). Luckily, I've never had a problem getting him to bed more or less on time, even when his naps go late.

Even if you have no where to go? My girls have been napping for a few hours now (woohoo!) but since they rarely take good naps I have a feeling they are going to be up all night. I guess it works out since the time changes tonight but I'm still worried since it's approaching 4pm and LO2 usually goes down for the night at 6pm.

Do you ever wake up your LO from a nap if it's getting late? If you let them sleep as long as they want does it mess with their bedtime?
