I don't do it myself but hate paying for cuts every 6 weeks so I make it a dramatic cut so I can wait longer lol. Just typically go from beyond shoulder length to in between chin and shoulder length. I haven't recently because I've been lazy but I use to chop it, grow it, chop it, repeat! I made bangs for myself two weeks ago, and it looked so much better than I expected. i started cutting DS1's hair in the summer, which led me to cut DH's hair and give DS2 his first trim. I recently cut a few inches off my sister's hair too. My tip is to get good scissors and watch tutorials online. It doesn't take forever to dry! I still just run a comb through and go. I like it just long enough to still pull back in a ponytail.
