My older one won't tolerate white noise and isn't in a deep sleep in the morning. But if my older one wakes up first, she needs to be quiet. We just started a reward chart so she gets a sticker for being quiet and then she will get a prize once the chart is filled. It has been working well and she is so quiet now (most of the time)! That's why we rarely let J fuss for more than 5-10 minutes - I get soo nervous that he'll wake up his big sister. We bought another marpac just last week to use in N's room, so now we have white noise in both their rooms to drown out all outside noise. That should do it.
