Mostly because he doesn't sound like he is very good with money. </p> <p>In a normal circumstance where someone spends money on us, I don't feel bad. Everyone has different budgets for holidays or gifts. For our wedding he gave us a $400 check. We didn't cash it because we knew it likely wouldn't clear and even if it did, we didn't want their money.</p> <p>If the person is responsible with their money though and choose to spend it on us then I don't feel bad.
