I feel safe, but we always lock everything up. We do live in a fairly large city, so I am aware crime can and does happen, even in my neighborhood.

There is room for improvement! I don't live in the best of areas in our city, so we definitely always have our doors locked at night and when we aren't home.

We have a dog now, and he is very protective! So that makes me feel a lot safer. We also have a loaded gun in a secret combination safe right next to our bed heaven forbid anything happen!

Very much so. I live out in the country. Plus my dogs would bark if anyone came in. We have ADT too.

yes, although not as safe as you feel :) I will lock doors/turn on the security system, which makes me feel safer.

nope. i'm a pretty paranoid person in general but my car was broken into in my driveway and i've just seen too many shady things on our street to feel comfortable. our doors stay locked, whether we are home or not.

Typically, yes. And any fears I may have are pretty irrational lol.

I always have the doors locked at night though.

So a bit ago E was (is still) asleep in his crib in the nursery with the door closed. I was in the shower, and as I was shaving my legs it occurred to me that I'd left the front door open (with the screen door shut). I'd opened it earlier because it's really nice outside today, and forgot to shut it!

And once I realized...I kept on with my shower, lol. I live in a tiny town with nearly no crime and my neighbor is outside sunbathing on her deck, lol.

I sometimes lock the door at night out of habit, but given our town, where our complex is and where our apartment is within the complex I would be completely shocked if anyone tried to break-in.

When I lived in Philly I locked the door compulsively. And the deadbolt. And the windows.

Do you feel safe where you live?
