Its a giant tube that you push into the sand and then you create a vacuum by closing a hole and hoisting the entire column of sand above ground. It makes clamming pretty easy! I did it on the WA coast and it was a lot of fun but I haven't been in a few years. And you have to dig and be quick and it gets tiring fast!
