@Espion: Your comment made me laugh! It's so true with some kids though! I just had my 5-year-old's molars sealed and one of them already had a cavity so his dentist just put filling in there and there wasn't a need for sealant there. He doesn't even eat sweets much and brushes 3x daily and flosses once daily. I had no idea he had such groovy molars until the dentist pointed it out. I think once they are fully grown it would be fine to get them sealed if they need it.

Yep, we floss daily with kid flossers with handles. I just started with our 2.5-year-old. He enjoys it. They say gappy teeth means no braces and perfect teeth means most likely braces. My oldest has perfect teeth and my youngest has crooked teeth ALREADY... I better start saving on braces for both of them. *Sigh!* As if kids aren't expensive already! :P

No, honestly just getting her to brush them is hard enough, but we should, I'm going to try be better about it.

I can get my LO to brush her teeth every evening, but I have trouble getting her to do it in the mornings. We're so rushed and she's cranky that I'm rushing her off to daycare, so brushing our teeth in the mornings have taken a back seat. I'm kinda afraid of flossing my LO's teeth in fear of doing it too hard. Is that crazy?

LO actually loves to floss but I only remember to a few times a week. She also has no gaps and the dentist said it's more likely for her to have cavities because of that so it's super important she flosses.

It would be easier to find a baby dragon and floss its teeth. I wonder how early they seal the molars against cavities?

Yikes! I have a hard enough time just brushing Xander's teeth at the moment. He's only 18 months though, so I think that's okay? We're planning on his first dentist appointment when he turns 2, so maybe I'll ask about flossing then (or they'll just tell me to start... ugh).

We've been really bad about flossing! DS loves to brush his teeth so I'm guessing it won't be a huge deal to add flossing in at least a few times per week.

J loves playing "dentist". I tell him to lie back in his chair like he's at the dentist and he lets me brush and floss his teeth.

I don't floss, but I should. R just had her first dentist appointment and she said that her teeth are too stuck together! She said I had to floss them to help separate them!

Charlie and Olive had a teeth cleaning this week, and the dentist said we need to floss their teeth, esp the molars), a couple times a week. I know I should, but I always forget!

Do you floss your LO's teeth? How often?

PS - Olive has super gappy teeth and the dentist said she had perfect teeth... lots of room for them to grow in! Charlie on the other hand has perfect no-gap teeth... wonder if that means he's more likely to need braces!
