But about 3 years ago, they stopped giving them to anyone since things were so tight. I don't foresee one this year either. I don't mind, though. We work for the same company, and Hubs said he doesn't remember getting a holiday bonus last year, but he gets comission/bonus once a month anyway, so it was probably all together. I'll be eligible for my monthly bonus starting at the end of this month, so I'm hoping to get one too. I know my boss has been really excited about the projects I've been working on, so I'm REALLY hopeful. I got one once at my previous job and it was pretty sweet since it was totally unexpected. </p> <p>I love getting a bonus, but I'd honestly rather take the raise hands down since the bonus is taxed 52% and doesn't add to my base pay. They're paid quarterly and are a percentage of our pay. Mine was approximately 10% of my pay (divided by 4 each quarter) and DH's is about 7%. Depending on quarterly performance you either get the whole amount you might lose as much as 20% of it if it's not a good quarter. The company had a bad quater (hence my layoff) so we'll be losing 10% of our bonuses. </p> <p>I can't remember DH's typical amount, but after taxes mine was about $1200/quarter.
