He was probably unsure of what to do and defaulted to respecting your ability to set your kid's boundaries. Personally I have NO idea how to socially interact with children and wouldn't have the first clue what to do in that situation other than keep walking. My LO loves waving at everyone nowadays. You would think he was flipping some people the bird with the way they look at him. It's like, hello just wave back at the cute, smiling kid! Luckily, most people do, it's pretty rare that people aren't nice. But, those grumps always amaze me. I love responding to babies and toddlers! One day we had the satelite repair man iver to fix something and she kept trying to say hi and he straight up ignored her! Lala is usually pretty shy, but this morning she busted out with a huge "How's it going?!" and the guy didn't even acknowledge her. Even when I was childless I'd still acknowledge a child. Hipsters these days! Do you get frustrated when people ignore your child who is trying to get their attention?
