My DH is salaried as well, but it is not based on actual work hours. It's more like "you work for us, and we pay you X" so it doesn't matter if he works a normal day, or like yesterday when he worked for 16 hours, today is a normal day. His Xmas party though, is a taxable benefit. So it gets added to an income line on our tax forms, as it is more than a $500 benefit. I generally work 40 hours, sometimes more, sometimes less. If i have something during work hours, like a christmas lunch, then i guess technically i am paid since they arent going to deduct those hours from our paycheck. I love lunches with the bosses!
