I get about an hour in the afternoon when my son is napping and my daughter gets her TV time. It was hard when my daughter stopped napping because I was used to 2-3 hours of time in the afternoon. But she started going to bed much earlier at night so I get 2 - 2.5 hours then. The days can get long until bedtime so I am going to start getting a sitter during the day when I feel myself needing a break. I also try to clean/do dishes/some chores while the kids are awake so I can really get downtime while they are asleep.

Some days I do- like today they both took really nice long naps and I got to rest for a few minutes, shower, and get dressed, and still clean up the kitchen and do laundry. But yesterday naps didn't go well, baby only slept an hour (in the whole day) andthe toddler stayed in her room but didn't nap, so I had no break.

The worst part for me is not knowing if I will get the break or not. I get so much more frustrated when I have plans for nap time and something goes wrong than if I was only planning to pick up the lunch dishes.

I don't get up before them. I'm just way too tired.

Yes he is in school 2 mornings a week from 9:30-11:30 so I go to a cafe near his school and have coffee/breakfast and putz on my phone. Sometimes get a mani or something.
And his nap time is pretty good (solid 2.5-3 hours) so that's when I watch tv and do chores.

In January he'll be doing 4 mornings a week at school plus naps. It'll be nice.

Yes I always have time for reading during the day. I generally read for 45-60 mins in the morning before DD gets up and enjoy my coffee. So far the newborn's schedule is allowing for this as well. I also read during nap time in the afternoon and sometimes In the evening after DD goes to bed. I need my quiet book time to be happy!

Yes because she naps 2-3 hours a day. I usually do an hour show, do laundry and clean.

No breaks, no. LO is my alarm clock & when she naps I either shower or do chores that are easier without her in the way/interrupting me. My ILs offer to take her but aren't actually very available & live 20min each way, so hardly worth taking her for the afternoon, but I'll do so for appointments, etc.

I am so so lucky that both girls still usually nap together everyday so I generally workout then. I also have been waking up before them so I get about 30 minutes in the morning alone with coffee and to read. But now that DD1 is older she definitely skips a nap 1 to 3 times a week so my sympathies go out to you. No break days are ROUGH!

If you stay at home, do you get any time during the day to do something that you want to do? Watch a show, workout, read, etc?

I stay home with the girls and first thing in the morning when just my youngest is up, she likes to chill out on the couch and I can browse my phone/read with my coffee. Once my oldest gets up it's game over. I get a little time when my oldest goes to school and LO2 takes her afternoon rest, then not again until bedtime. So overall I do get some time to do what I want (most days), but it helps that the girls are getting older and are more independent.
