@Modern Daisy: I would like to say she is here to help but, no. She kinda forced this visit on us and is here to spend time with DD. She is kinda high maintenance too. Ugh.... she wants to visit every month too.

Oh man if it's family I sleep even LATER! I wake up to nurse the baby and then hand her off and get some more zzzzzzzz's.

My LO is only 7 weeks as well and I think at this age all bets are off. It's really important for you to get sleep, which is probably part of why she's visiting right? So I'm sure she'll understand if you sleep in. When my MIL stayed with us a couple of weeks ago we actually slept in shifts - if she stayed up with DS for night wakings then I would get up at 6 while she slept until like 9 or 10. Then later on in the day she would keep him occupied while I took a nap. But regardless I think it's perfectly acceptable and understandable for a parent of a newborn to sleep until 10 if that's the only way he/she is able to feel rested!

My MIL is visiting from OOS to visit DD and is sleePing in DH's office. DD is just 7 weeks and had a rough night of wakeups and I usually don't get up until She does around 10 to make up for lost sleep. But with MIL here I feel like I should. I know I wont be able to nap later. Never can.

Would you just get up and tough it out or keep sleeping?
