I've gotten my eyebrows waxed every two weeks for like 6 years. I just started getting my lip waxed at the same time because a couple of months after I had my son I started noticing my lip hair was getting darker and longer. I was really nervous because I thought it would be like stubble in between, but its really not. The woman that does my waxing says almost everyone who gets their eyebrows waxed also gets their lip done.

I get my eyebrows and above my lip waxed. I have blonde hair so its not noticeable to anyone but me.

I've actually heard that the more you wax hair, the less thick it comes back in. I wax my lip and it's never been any different than before when it grows back. I think the idea of removed hair growing back thicker or darker is basically a myth--it just appears that way if you shave because it makes the ends blunt, but if you wax it rips out the whole hair so the ends will be the same, if that makes sense!

I've never had it threaded, but every now and then I'll bust out the cheap-o Sally Hansen waxing kit and do it at home. I've never noticed it growing in darker/stubble-y....man I'm attractive...

It grows back the same and isn't like stubble...it's nothing like a mans mustache...
I get mine waxed periodically and it always makes me look so fresh-faced and put together....it makes a big difference, even if you think it won't:)

I get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded. Upper lip hurts! I have darker hair so I need to get it done. It grows back the same coarseness (aka thin).

i'm a huge fan of threading, and whenever I get my brows done, I also get the upper lip done. It hurts more than the eyebrows though, and once in a while I will get a tiny pimple from the irritation. I think that happens more from threading than from waxing. But it is convenient to have it all done at once. The hair didn't grow back thicker. I have once gotten my whole face threaded. I don't know how the lady talked me into that, I'm not hairy at all. But my husband was like wow.. your face is so.. clear!

@lawbee11: I just started getting my eyebrows threaded like last month and I agree with you! It's way more precise! I also have always had a trust issue with waxing because when I was 16 some woman waxed off half my eyebrow and then tried to tell me I had a scar there and that's why half my eyebrow was gone! (Weird how that never happened when I got waxed by someone else!)

@Foodnerd81: I used to always get my eyebrows waxed, but I started getting them threaded about a year ago and I much prefer threading. I just like how precise it is--I always worried about the wax taking off more hair than I would like. I like the shape much better since I started getting them threaded. It is a little painful, but it's not too bad. The worst part is it makes my eyes water really badly!

I get my lip waxed. I have the same as you, light blonde hairs. Honestly it's not any more noticeable than anyone else but I'm really self conscious about it.

I don't find that it grows back thicker or darker, I love getting it done.

I haven't tried threading although I can't imagine the pain. LOL. I find getting my eyebrows threaded to be pretty traumatizing and the lip is even more sensitive. I cringe at the thought, really.

@highwire: that is the reason I actually started getting mine done. I don't know if she said it to me because she wanted to make some extra cash, but it sure was a good way to make me self conscious about my lip hair!!!!

I'm interested in what people say. I've only used the hair removal cream at home, but I feel like those chemicals can't be good pregnant. I've heard good things about threading and I know other areas I have waxed always grow in lighter and thinner after.

Every time I get my eyebrows done the waxing lady asks if I want my lip done also...so erm maybe I have an issues (or she's trying to make another sale). But I can't bring myself to do it for the first time because I don't want to deal with stubble in between sessions. It is blonde hair and I also don't want to deal with it growing back potentially darker...

I have never gotten my lip waxed or threaded, but I am considering it. I don't have any really noticeable hair there, but sometimes when the light hits it the right way you can see some blonde hair there, and it drives me nuts. I get my eyebrows threaded once every couple of weeks, so I could easily get it done, but I am worried about the maintenance that will be involved. If you've had this done, does it grow back thicker/darker? Or just about the same as it was before you had it removed?
