I painted her a pic, gave her some candy (I had received) in a pretty container. I have always loved Vday and things with hearts on it so I definitely celebrate. I just found a book my mom inscribed for me on Vday many years ago. (DH didn’t get a gift but he cooked me fancy dinner and got me clothing. I asked her if he told her about these "gifts", she said no. Apparently she remembers getting gifts from the previous year (she's 5). Thank goodness he surprised us with gifts in the morning 😂 :heart: </p> <p>He gives us chocolates and cards, sometimes with flowers or plants thrown in. I really appreciate it since Valentine's isn't really a thing here. So no one actually exchanges cards and anything at her school.</p> <p>I also like to give DD a Valentine's gift - just something small. Not only is he a little young to understand right now, but we are absolutely swimming in all the toys and such he got for Christmas (not to mention his grandparents giving him "Christmas presents that arrived late", yeah whatever you say), and he hasn't finished his Christmas candy either (b/c he forgot it exists). So we probably won't start doing anything until he starts thinking candy is exciting enough to actually finish it.</p> <p>For what it's worth though, DH and I choose not to celebrate VDay either.
