We use it for the basic coverage, so I'm glad to say "no" since we haven't had the need to (knock on wood). However, once I become pregnant, I'm sure we will, and be uber thankful for it.

Now that I am pregnant I will feel like I am getting more than my moneys worth but aside from the pregnancy I rarely used my insurance.

Other than being pregnant, not really. DH & I don't visit the doctor too much and fortunately, DD is on the healthy side too (knock on wood!).

I will say that we signed up for Aflac before this pregnancy and we will TOTALLY get our moneys worth from that. If you are planning to get pregnant, it is completely worth it to sign up. We are going to get 3x our money back for having DD2!

I think so – it’s worth the cost even if I don’t use a lot in a year – just imagine the cost of anything medical if you didn’t have insurance! Yikes! But this year I am definitely getting services in far excess of what I pay in a year for my monthly premiums (several years worth, in fact!). I have no idea what my employer pays for my plan, but we’re probably still getting our monies worth this year.

Heck no. My husband and I are hardly ever sick. And now with his new insurance plan it doesn't even cover his cholesterol medicine, go figure.
Such a racket.

This is the first year I've actually put my insurance to good use.

We will this year with the pregnancy. DH usually does, but for me? Other than the standard exams and prescriptions... I haven't used insurance for anything "surplus."

we are generally in good health, but i still say that insurance is worth it for us... I saw the bills for our LO's vaccines for her 2 month visit... so expensive. I don't think many people realize that even well-visits and routine healthcare can be costly too.

When we had LO we totally got our money's worth for that year. Generally we don't though as we are both fairly healthy and don't generally need to go to the Dr or take any medication. It's worth it for the peace of mind. Also if either of us have any dental issues we probably cover our health insurance costs for the year.

Yeah. I had an HSA before and it just wasn't the plan for someone who goes to the doctor a lot. Now that Hops has some medical issues, we both use it plenty.

I think we do, too. We keep up-to-date with our regular check ups and need medication here and there. And since the LO started daycare, there has been an increase in doctor's visits due to her illnesses. We've had to go to urgent care a few times in the last few years (for us and her). And then with the birth and my pregnancy, I think I only paid a couple of hundred dollars for all of it.

Dh and I totally do. He has crohns and I get migraines, so even just doctors apts and meds is a lot of money for us. Plus.....

Dh takes a weekly med that is over $1000 per shot. And hes had lots of surgeries, and will be having another one (we hope!) In a month.

Two years ago I miscarried and had to have 2 d&cs. One year ago I had lo. And this year I had a trial surgery and a $63,000 surgery. We didn't have to pay a penny because I already met my deductible.
