@dolphin: We didn't cut it out until closer to 15 months. That night bottle and middle of the night bottle were the last and hardest to drop and we had sleep issues from 13-14 months that we had to work out too.

Both of my kids have had 8+ teeth before age 1 so we were always diligent about brushing before bed. No dental issues so far.

I also never did cows milk in a bottle because I didn't want to associate milk with the bottle on transitioning. After 15 months if I couldn't get him back down I gave a cup of cows milk (kept it in a thermos in his room to stay cold).

No, once LO transitioned to WCM around 10.5-11 months we cut out formula altogether. We also did not cut off MOTN milk wake ups by giving him water two days in a row.

No more formula after one. But if they woke up at night I gave them cow’s milk. I kept the bottle as long as it helped them to sleep.

We found that a protein-rich meal right before bed really helped. Yogurt, etc.

If he drinks cows milk during the day, I would just give cows milk at night too. Or best to just wean off of it all together because of dental issues.

Id perhaps try a larger snack before bed (like a scrambled egg or cheese stick, protein heavy, not carb heavy). It seems to me that you'll be setting yourself up for some problems both sleep and dental wise if you continue to give formula overnight if its not truly necessary.

DS just turned 13 months old and is not sleeping through the night. He did at 10 months for a bit but then started waking up once or twice in the middle of the night again. Usually I would feed him a bottle of formula and he would go right back down. I know I am "suppose" to wean him off night feedings but just curious to know if anyone continued to give their LO formula in the middle of the night after one years old? He drinks cows milk during the day.
