We don't usually eat dessert proper, but we do eat cookies fairly often. Usually she'll get a little bite, which she loves. She eats a huge variety of other foods, so I feel ok with making cookies a sometimes treat. She's never had candy and we rarely have cake - we're not huge on sugar.

Not yet! He has had a healthy cookie before and he ate healthy cake on his birthday. Other than that he never gets sweets other than fruit.

No dessert yet but she has sweets at bday parties. I will have to try the apples and bananas! Sounds delish!

He's not that interested in cake or cookies, but he loves anything frozen. If he's eaten a really good meal or tried something new (or we usually give it to him on the weekends no matter what, as a fun treat) he'll get a popsicle, a scoop of strawberry ice cream, or fruit snacks. He just started liking clementines so that serves as dessert these days! Yay!

At birthday parties he loves cake but he only eats the icing.

He's been offered cookies or cake a handful of times (his birthday, my mother-in-law's birthday...) But he hasn't been all that interested in sweets besides juices and fruit. He even fed me all of his smash cake at his birthday celebration-- I couldn't swallow it fast enough to keep up with his shoving it in my mouth!

Not on the daily. At parties she can have cake but she's not a big fan.
I don't really consider fruit dessert because she has it with every meal and as a snack.

DS has had a few bites of dessert if we're eating it. I gave him a few bites of tiramisu once. He's also had a few tastes of vanilla ice cream and DH gave him a couple of the shortbread GS cookies.

I was always allowed sweets and desserts as a kid, but I feel like I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with them as an adult! I don't want my kids to be so sugar crazy, so I may limit sweets with them. Then again, my mom wasn't allowed to have sweets as a kid and remembers eating lumps of white sugar at her neighbor's house because it was a forbidden treat!

We let Charlie have a lot more sweets before Olive was born (cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, candy.. occasionally of course), but we've really changed the way we eat as a family since. So dessert is always fruit. But tonight I sauteed some apples and bananas in butter, cinnamon, and honey. The kids love it!

Do you let your LO eat dessert?
