I'm an only child, so it's pretty easy. We're trying to convince DH's family to start a week in the mountains tradition. They prefer the mountains, so I don't think it will be a hard sell. We flew out to the East Coast to visit DH's extended family. We also go camping with my IL's on occasion. Haven't been on a trip with my family in a while, but my mom is trying to arrange a Florida trip for next winter. In May he is getting re-married so all of us are going to Vegas! Yay! My ILs do not travel like, at all, so unfortunately we haven't gone anywhere with them. I never really went on family vacations when I was young, so it's really nice to be able to experience it with DH's family. Last year we went to the beach with them, and my LO had a blast hanging out with so many aunties and uncles. We go up north to DH's parents' hometown every wknd we can 1x every couple months. No big trips yet though. My IL's rented a big beach house for a week. We have another trip planned for July of this year, and I'm so excited to bring DS with us....I think he'll have a lot of fun with his cousins. A few weekends back most of us spent the weekend in a ski cabin in NH. DH, FIL, and both BsIL went mountain climbing while the girls and kids hung out in front of the fire, lol. I'm not close to my family, and it pleases me to know end that I'm now part of a family that can spend a week together and not want kill each other.
