oh and yes, we (DH, me and the 2 girls) regularly go to the chiro. i am more diligent with going every 2ish weeks because if i go too long, i start to have pain and it's easier to maintain my neck and back health than recover from an injury.

@erinbaderin: if you can swing it, i really recommend going right after birth! there are a lot of relaxins in your body and that's a great time for adjustments (per my two different chiros after my two births)

When DS was about 15 months old I started seeing one for some lingering lower back pain from pregnancy and birth. I started out by going twice a week and after she adjusted me she would show me different moves to strengthen my core muscles. She also recommended foam rolling and showed me how to do it. After about 6 weeks I was finally able to cut it down to once a week and then finally down to just maintenance visits every few weeks.

It's been over a year since I've been (moved jobs so the office I went to is too far away) and I'm definitely starting to feel it. I really need to find another!

Just started last week after a year of pain and many other doctors. Hope it does the trick, cause I'm out of patience and ideas...

Yes and have for years. I see a guy who does Active Release Therapy, which is more muscular based, which is the root of so many problems for me. I've gone through a lot of chiros....many seem to forget what kind of doctor they are, lol

I think finding the right one is key. I found mine through referrals, and I met him first to understand his philosophy, style, etc. I think that a lot of chiros are much more aggressive, and I wasn't comfortable with that.

Yes, and I 😍😍😍 him. He's pretty conservative in that he believes in minimal manipulations and helping your body to heal naturally. His practice includes pregnant women and children, and he's the most gentle man on earth. It helps a LOT.

I've been thinking about it. My first pregnancy did a number on me. I kept feeling like my lower back/pelvis/hips were loose and would just slide out of place and it was so painful. I'm pregnant again and my right hip is off pretty bad and keeps pinching a nerve or something if I move it too much.

I'm not sure about my insurance coverage though.

I started going back in middle school. Back when you had 7 classes a day, and therefore had to carry 7 textbooks every day. No rolling backpacks at that point and our school didn't have lockers. Both my sister and I have horrible backs because of it.

I go these days for just maintenance. I throw my ribs out a lot and I get headaches from my terrible posture. I go about once a month unless I'm hurting.

My son also goes for his reflux and ear infections.

We go as often as we can just for adjustments to keep things in line and feeling great. Ultimately, once a week would be best, but it's hard to fit that into our schedules. We can definitely tell when things are locked up and how much relief we get afterwards!

Getting adjusted during both of my pregnancies have been lifesavers! It kept my sciatic pain with my 1st in check and it helped relieve any lower back/tail bone pain I had along with pinched nerves no amount of keep or massaging could fix!!

I started going during this pregnancy and have found it so helpful with pelvic pain! I'm going weekly right now in the last months of pregnancy and may continue to go, though not as frequently, post pregnancy.

I've been going for the last few weeks to try to flip a breech baby. I have found that in the immediate term, it's actually causing me pain, but her explanation for it makes a lot of sense - she said that my pelvis is seriously out of alignment and has been for a long time so suddenly my left side is having to do a lot of work it isn't used to doing. I think it's been good for me (and I also think it's maybe the reason for the breech). Once I get through the newborn phase I would definitely consider going on a regular basis.

Yes! You may have to go once or twice a week until your body is in alignment, then once a month for maintenance.

Yes. I go every 4-6 weeks. I get a massage first. It's covered by my insurance. I feel like it helps my overall wellness. If I go to long between appointments I can tell. I've been seeing the same two chiropractors for 10 years- love them.

DH started going a couple weeks ago! He's been having back and hip pain so he got some recommendations from coworkers to one in town. He had X-rays done and they found that his lower spine looked like it was in rough shape and his hips were out of alignment by a lot  ! Right now he is going 3 times per week to get things set in there correctly, and will then probably go once or twice a month to keep up the progress. He was sore the first 2 times he went and now says he feels so much better! It's been so worth it since he's a teacher and stands all day!

He wanted to get himself "fixed up" before the baby comes in August lol. He has a sleep study this weekend and hopefully a solution for his crappy sleep for the past 10 years too! Good luck!

I'm just curious if anyone goes to a Chiropractor, and how you think it helps you/how often you go. I am thinking of going to one to help with multiple issues, but want some advice first!
