I'd send him in that scenario, and feel guilty about it too! But I'd also feel guilty if I stayed home from work another day. Can't win!

It's tough but I try to remember that he's at a great daycare, he has has medicine and doctors, healthy food, warm bed.... so many things that other babies don't have access to, and that he'll be okay.

I would send him too. I send my DD unless she has a fever, diarrhea, or something contagious (HFM). She pretty much has a runny nose all winter long.

I would send LO too in that scenario. Unless she has a fever or is very unwell, I send her.

@Canoli: thank you for making me feel better! I feel the same that if I stayed home with him for every illness I would never go to work!

I would take him to daycare. My husband and I always have this struggle. It's very hard to be a working parent. We recently had to take turns staying home with our LO for a week while he was sick. But in all seriousness I could stay home all winter with him for every little thing but it's just not realistic. I do worry that the daycare providers talk about us.

My LO is six months and has quickly surpassed his 8-12 illnesses in a year it seems! It seems he constantly has had a cold since he's started daycare. He had a sinus infection and spiking fever for which we had him stay home until he was fever-free. He then got pink eye on a Friday but was symptom-free and non contagious by the following Monday. Now he has a cough that won't quit. My DH took him to the pediatrician this evening and they prescribed a nebulizer treatment for him. He is fever-free, ear infection free...and other than a bit fussy here and there because he's not sleeping the best, he is acting like himself. So we are planning on sending him to daycare tomorrow.

What would you do? When I told the daycare lady we were bringing him tomorrow she kind of made me feel guilty. Nothing explicit so maybe it's my own guilt coming to the surface. I'm a FTM and used all my sick/vacation time for my maternity leave and my DH and I have pretty demanding jobs that are not easy to miss so I'm hesitant to take off days just incase I'll need to take time for something very serious...just curious what others normally do. Thanks.
