That includes Santa and stocking stuffers. I have my list all made out and it will be on the lower end this year, she's only 2 so for her she just loves the excitement of opening gifts and the value doesn't mean as much. I dread the older years when they want everything and it all costs so much. Definitely going to drill the meaning of Christmas (to us) into my kids, and when they get old enough adopt a family to show that not everyone can afford the nice things. Especially since you said his sister is younger...she won't know the difference. </p> <p>My kids are so different in age that's it's not possible to set a budgeted amount that's equal for each kid. By Christmastime, daughter will be two days shy of 14 and my son will be 2.5yrs. And we'll have a 2 month old. But I fully intend to have a budget for both kids when they are older!</p> <p>In your situation, if I decided to get the Star Wars set (and those things ARE expensive, stupid Legos...), I might try to combine DD's gifts so that the number of presents to unwrap are the same, even though DD will get more items total.
