@artbee- you have a silly lil baby! :)

@rubies- that's helpful, thanks. She's flipped from her belly to her back before, but it's not something she's perfected yet. Like I think she does it only out of necessity. And by necessity I mean when a toy is just too far out of her reach, haha.

@mrs.bee- thank you! I guess I'll just let her do what she wants to do. I am already a sleepless mess, maybe this new found comfort will improve her sleeping issues and thus allow us all to sleep a full night again. Omg, can't even imagine the joy that that would be!

charlie started sleeping on his tummy at 4 1/2 months. i too was paranoid like you and would watch him on his monitor and flip him back! after a sleepless week, i gave up since he would always flip onto his tummy. babies sleep better on their stomachs, and once they're strong enough to flip on their tummies, it's safe for them to sleep like that.

charlie still flips over the moment we put him in his crib and sleeps on his tummy at 25 months!

In all my reading about back- sleeping and SIDS, I've learned that as soon as a baby can roll over, it's okay to sleep on belly. Can your LO roll onto her back from her belly?

My LO started flipping to her belly a few months ago in the morning when she wakes up. She hates it though. She'll complain until someone goes and flips her back. Then we just have to hope she stays that way or she'll never go back to sleep. She loves flipping onto her belly, she hates being on her belly, and she's still not great at flipping back to her back.

Just call me the obsessed-with-sleep-mommy. I'll move on to other topics, I swear. But for now....

MY LO (5 months old) has been rolling over to sleep on her tummy lately. It appears that she's most comfortable that way. It's the only time that she can get herself back to sleep. Like, she'll start crying but then roll over to her tummy and immediately fall back to sleep. I usually flip her around to her back again, tummy sleeping makes me nervous. But as soon as I do she becomes very aggitated (she's probably thinking, "wth, don't you know how much energy it takes me to roll to my tummy!!?!") and usually wakes up shortly after.

Do you have a tummy sleeper? What age did they start? Should I be allowing her to sleep the way she's most comfortable? I don't know when a baby is ok to sleep like that, without it affecting their breathing.
