@Mrs. Pen: Bahahaha well, $150 plus the $100 I know my mom will give me to shop for M plus a $50 PBK gift card. ;)

So technically I have $300 to spend. Sweet! That's more than I thought! Hm I might be able to get another big-ish item.

@lovehoneybee: that's what is upping his Christmas budget... we want to get the Hape Kitchen for him, and it's over $100. But I don't want to only get him one thing.

@lawbee11: ha, yeah last year J was 10 months and we spent less than $50 :)

@Lindsay05: same! I have a big family so he doesn't get much so I like to splurge a little for special one-time a year events like christmas and birthday.

@blackbird: have you looked at Uncle Goose blocks? They're the ones we have and LOVE them. I love that we can not only build with them, but learn letters and animals. http://unclegoose.com/products/classic-abc-blocks/

@locavore_mama: seriously you're planning to get all that for <$150?! you are gooooood!!! haha.

No real budget, just buying what we can afford. We are going to be getting the family some big ticket items that will count as mine and DH's presents (TV, camera, PS4). But, I would rather spend the money that we would spend on gifts on experiences :)

I don't even know what to buy for my son this year, as we will be abroad, so I haven't given much thought to how to handle christmas morning, which isn't a big deal in my husband's home country.

Guess we should make a plan and possibly pack some cars in our luggage!

We don't set a budget. So far we've spent $400 on our 2 boys and we're pretty much done. If we find anything else we'd like to get them we probably will but if not, they've got plenty.

$100-150 max. I want to get her a learning tower or anywhere chair as her big gift. Depending on which one I can get used the other will likely come from my mom because she usually gives me money to buy whatever I want for LO. I also have a PBK gift card which will help supplement costs for the anywhere chair. LOL

Also want a shopping cart, doll stroller, a mixed race doll, and some Legos. Looking primarily used on Craigslist and fb groups.

My budget this year is $100. She doesn't have ANY toys besides the infant toys she got from baby showers, so I need to get her some because it's starting to get rough... haha. She saw me bring in some of her Christmas and Birthday toys (a couple FP Little People sets) and she went craaaazyyyyy over them! I felt so bad for putting them up right away :(

We haven't but there are only a couple of things I want to get her. I want to get her a little chair and those land of nod rainbow blocks (which are SO EXPENSIVE). The blocks are probably a better birthday gift (april) but i'm hoping they go on sale. Unfortunately, both items make the total about $300, which is crazy pants for a 9 month old

I think we will aim for about $100. So far I've bought the parum pa pum drum and a football taggie toy, so I still have some left to play with. We want to get her an activity table and those are about $50.

Well, I already bought her a Zany Zoo on sale for $50. Not sure what a 9 month old will really need. Going to get some new little things for stocking stuffers. I want to get a PBK Anywhere Chair, so if the grandparents don't spring for it, I'll probably get it for her myself.

@Mrs. Bee: I bought 25 Christmas/winter themed books yesterday...we're planning on wrapping them up and letting him unwrap one a day from Dec 1st-25th!

ETA: It'll probably be around $150. I want to get him a play kitchen and unless I can find a good used one or score a great deal that alone will be over $100. I guess $250 with what we spent on the books...

@HLK208: yeah it's crazy how quickly it all adds up. Also now that J is almost 2 there is just so much more we want to buy for him. Last year it was so easy to keep it around $50. He also doesn't get a ton from extended family because both DH and I have large families so the budgets are smaller- which is totally fine but it means that we are the only ones who buy him toys and clothes so that's something to consider.

$300-400 each. We do a few big gifts but we don't get them anything else all year except for Christmas and birthdays. Sometimes it's just things they need too. No one in our families gives gifts to them either so I feel obligated to make the budget a little bigger.

It sounds like a ton but some of it is furniture for B's room, the playroom and even little necessities for E (potty chair)!

We are on a strict budget, so probably a max of $25, hopefully less. We will spend about the same amount on one another, less on everyone else. LO's birthday is also Christmas eve, so a max of $30 (but, once again, shooting for far less) on that. I think even after our situation improves I'm going to try to keep it simple, though.
