I used to have a decent collection, but a friend of mine "borrowed" them and didn't give them back. I use Pandora, Spotify, & my iPod now, so CDs are pretty much obsolete in my car/stereo. Like a whole wall full of them. I have about 20 CDs. I do prefer to buy the whole album if I like the artist. If I only like one or two songs, I buy the mp3 instead. We still have a bunch of cds, although most have also been uploaded onto the macs as well. We have a TON of records. Like Maysprout said, I love the sound of music (especially jazz) on a record. Its far to clean sounding on itunes, or even cds. Not sure why, I like my Christmas music on CD's. We have to move them soon because they are in an entertainment center that needs to go before the baby comes. I use them when I'm upstairs and don't have a computer handy. We have a stereo upstairs that has a cd player and tape player (ha). Downstairs we do have a cd changer still and we use that mostly for Christmas music or specialty cd's we may buy. But we just completed our last pre-baby project, which was to copy all of our CDs on the computers (and make a backup) and bring the boxes of CDs in a used CD shop to sell them... I like to avoid having stuff that takes up room if it's not necessary, so getting rid of all the CDs that we never ever use was a big thing for me! However, that is rare because you can listen to just about anything free online so why spend the money. I think it is really sad for the music industry, though. I think it's a special experience to wait for the CD, read the liner notes, etc. I don't think it's a good thing that everything is instant gratification nowadays. Our children will never know the "joys" of sitting by the radio all day waiting for the DJ to play the song that you requested and then running over to press the record button on your tape player. So old school. :-) It used to be so common and yet it struck me as such an intimate thing to do. You couldn't really easily look at someone's music these days, unless you browsed through their computer or iPod to see their music. If I had someone over, I wouldn't want them digging around my computer. I guess they could always fire up YouTube to look for music, which is what I do. Anyway I don't have a CD player these days or even CDs. I think I have some old CDs lying around, but I don't even know where they are. The days of CDs are definitely behind me. Do you have a CD player or CDs? If not, do you miss CDs at all?
