When we entered college we were the same height and weight and shared clothes. One guy thought we were the same person until they saw us together one day and had a total freakout. This was our senior year and his junior year so this is 3 years of him thinking we were the same person. She has a Korean name and I have an American one, so he assumed "we" went by both names. The crazy thing is that when he met us, she had a chin length bob and my hair almost reached my butt. I guess guys don't really notice hair. The crazier thing is that he referred to both of us by my name (since it was easier to remember than her Korean name) and she answered to it! She explained later that so many people called her by my name that she would just respond to it to make it easier... rather than explain "no, I'm not Tina...." she even used my name for ordering takeout and Starbucks. We even worked for the same bank but different branches in college...then I transferred to her branch and we both were like "you're the girl!!!" We weren't friends right away and eventually we both stopped working at the bank and lost touch...but we ran into each other the summer before our senior year of college and became roommates and ever since then we have been best friends (10+ years later). Everywhere we go people assume we're sisters. Second, in college, I really did have a doppelganger. We met once and almost gasped at the resemblance. People had been getting us confused for years, so we already knew that the other existed. The day we met I was wearing blue shorts and a pink shirt and she was wearing pink shorts and a blue shirt of the same color. We were like the perfect inverse of each other.
