Being a parent makes it so hard to draw the crazy line. </p> <p>I did see that there were lots of unused/unopened safety ladders on Craigslist from people that had moved. So 1) we could save money 2) there is a resale market if we move to single story.</p> <p>Where is the line? We live in a 3 story apartment building. We have a "townhouse" style apartment that starts on the second story. So there is someone below us and we have the top two stories. </p> <p>We're considering getting a portable emergency escape ladder in case of fire or severe earthquake. Do you have one?
