I'm not a stranger to fires. We live in a wooden house; I made sure we had fire extinguishers, even though DH thinks I'm paranoid for having 3. One's near the kitchen, one's close to the fireplace, and the 3rd is in the laundry room. We did have a little kitchen fire where the smoke alarm alerted me while LO was in her crib. It was so scary. I took the burning item and placed it in the sink. Within the first month of moving in I broiled steaks too close to the oven's heating mechanism. Seeing the flames and hearing the sizzle was the scariest thing ever.
