I bought it for DH for his birthday after he set something on fire in the toaster oven. It's just a little one, but our building also has a sprinkler system which I assume would kick in if the little extinguisher were not enough. </p> <p>Weird this thread came up today-- last night as I was struggling to fall asleep, I started thinking about what I would do if I couldn't get out of the apartment to the stairs in a fire, and if it would be safer to jump from the second floor window holding the baby, or drop her to someone below. And that explains my insomnia-- thoughts like that racing through my head. We keep ours in the entryway-- handy to the kitchen. Mr. T is a volunteer firefighter for our city and he is pretty serious about fire-safety. We also have ladders in the closet of each bedroom upstairs, in case we needed to exit through a window. There are some really great public fire-safety materials available. It's good to periodically think about your fire-safety plan. </p>
