It seems to protect the phone, but also is a fun color - AND holds my driver's license and credit card. Love it. I've also had Speck cases in the past, and have liked them as well. I've had about 3 of them and so far, so good. The only fail so far was when I accidentally washed my phone in the washing machine- full user error and obviously not anything the case could have helped. I also use a screen protector and have found them to be helpful.
