We don't. She has drawers that she can play in, or we have her in the high chair to watch us. She's usually just strolling through though. She doesn't hang on my legs unless she's tired.

I did, but before long I removed it and set it up to keep her out of our basement. She wants to hang with me while I'm cooking, anyway, and I have a play kitchen set up for her.

Yes, mainly to keep her out of the cat bowls.

Our kitchen is tiny and has two doorways. We have gates up in both of them. We don't have a lot of space so the kitchen isn't baby proofed at all. We sometimes let DS in if we're in there but we don't want him in there unsupervised at all, especially now that he can open the drawers.

I know he would scream and cry if I had one up. Plus our kitchen is small; it's an open floor plan walk through kitchen so it'd be pretty impossible to block off.

We didn't block him from anything. One thing we would do is bring the high chair into the kitchen and strap him in. That let him watch (and gave him snacks) but also kept him contained.

LO is 11 months old and I used to block off the entrance to the kitchen with a bench, until he figured out how to crawl underneath it, so now I let him go in there, giving him his own drawer, letting him open the bottom oven drawer, and even letting him touch the trash can, gross as it is.....but he still manages to get in my way! We have a small kitchen too. I'm just wondering if it's too late to install a kitchen gate, and whether I even should. I'd like to be able to prepare his food in peace. And, I don't really love it when he touches the trash can! Plus, after he gets bored, he wants "up" to see what I do on the counter. (If I ignore him, he will bite my leg! Scary!)
