We have a glider/recliner but we have it in our living room. Our living room is right outside the nursery and bedrooms so I always nursed in the living room. And, I usually nursed on the sofa. But I loved the recliner for thoses early months of naps and snuggles!

I used our Ikea Poang (and every other chair in the house...). We eventually got the Poang rocker, but I never used it for nursing, it's just a comfy chair!

We have the exact same setup as you (double bed instead of queen though) and we bought a smallish rocking chair.

I have a big la z boy rocker. It's amazing and I don't know what I would have done without it. It's comfortable enough to sleep in if needed (which we did a LOT in the first few months) and it's super cushy and lumbar supporting.

Our LC even complimented it!

ETA: we also picked it because we know when I'm done nursing it can happily live in the lounge

We have an Ikea Poang chair. It doesn't take up a lot of space, but it's kind of bouncy. I like the bounciness for when I want to soothe DS, and it's comfortable enough to sit in for nursing. He doesn't have his own room, so we needed something that could function as a normal part of the living room as well as a nursing chair.

I have limited space as well so we got this glider ... and while I loved it early on, I find it's too narrow now! My LO stretches out while she's nursing and pushes against the arm rails :( I'm so bummed because it was really comfy... but I guess a bigger one would have been better.

We have a glider. At the beginning, it wasn't that helpful, but as LO got older, I really like it now. We used to have it in our room but now it's in her room. I'll nurse her in it in the morning and evenings. It's so cute - after she's had her bath and put in her jammies, she'll look immediately toward the glider for me since she knows she gets fed next! she gets upset if I'm not there...

I had a glider with G... this time I got nada! I much preferred to be on the couch or laying down/back in bed while nursing. Sitting straight up is just too uncomfortable for me to nurse in... then again I also didn't use a boppy or other pillows for nursing.

I really loved my upholstered glider for breastfeeding in the early weeks. It was the only place I could figure out how to position my baby for nursing. I would rest the boppy on the arm rests and it was the perfect height for me. I'm sure I could have figured out another position but it was a lifesaver.

@Foodnerd81: I didn't because my wrists hurt so bad PP...I mostly nursed in a side lying position. I used it more later!

We have a glider/rocker/recliner. It's been a lifesaver and I couldn't have survived without it. It was my bed for the first few weeks after my c-section, the place where I breastfeed, where we rocked our baby to sleep during the early months, and where we held her at nite when she refused to be put down. We never thought we would get so much use out of it

We have a glider and honestly it was rarely used. It was intended to be moved into DS's room but we slept in the living room during the early months and it is still sitting in the middle of the living room currently holding seat cushions.

We just have a regular armchair for nursing, and not even a particularly comfortable one. It doesn't even have padding on the arms. I do not recommend that. I didn't even know what I was missing until I used a glider at a friend's house! We're used to it now after 7+ months, but I think having something more comfortable would have made a big difference in the early days.

We went into our new apartment today to take some measurements and I looked a little more carefully at the baby's room. We are planning to put our current queen bed in there (we are getting a new king for the master) so we have someplace for people to stay when they visit in the beginning (mostly our moms and siblings). It's a small room, but we can just fit the queen, a regular crib, and a dresser/changing top. But, sadly, there is no way a nice upholstered glider will fit-- MAYBE a small size rocking chair.

So, I'm wondering, did you have a rocking chair or a glider when LO was born? I had pictured having one in the nursery for late night feeding and soothing sessions. We could possibly put one in the living room if it coordinated with the living room rather than baby. How were you most comfortable nursing in the beginning?

The other option would be to get rid of the queen entirely and get a twin to put in there, but since we already have it, it seems a little silly to buy a cheap new bed.
