@Cherrybee: Just wait and see how much of a wreck you'll be when she ACTUALLY outgrows them. I was a HOT MESS.

@Cherrybee: It is hard she has 0-3 dresses that she hasn't worn yet but I have washed. Such a bummer, hopefully she will be able to wear them once before she is out of that size.

For the most part, yes, but he doesn't have a ton of clothes (I doubt I could have kept up with it if I'd had a girl!). He has a lot of basics that I can mix and match, and that makes it easy to keep track of it all.

@Cherrybee: Sadly, I always forget what we have, and I've fallen into the trap of buying something in a larger size only to realize that it's a summer outfit that won't fit until the winter or the other way around. Oops. The worst is when I find gifted clothing that LO never wore and is now to big to fit.

@swurlygurl: Ahhhh!!! That is a good tip!! I have noticed that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the sizing - but yet I have still packed away the stuff that says it's a bigger size!!

@MrsCB: According to the spreadsheet I have just made, we have 11 hats. Overboard much?!!

@Smurfette: It's so good to hear that you are bored with the 0-3 clothes - because I'm already getting tearful thinking that she will will be out of all this cute stuff by halloween and she hasn't even worn it yet!! Sob sob!!

Yes! Cause I do all the laundry. I just went through all her 3-6 months that we got from other people. I did so then I knew what we would need. Then I went shopping. Now I can't wait for her to move up so she can wear all the cute new clothes. I am bored with her 0-3 ones.

I was actually thinking about this just yesterday, because I was going through registry recommendations and realizing that we need hats. And I know we have some, but I have no idea how many or what season they're for. I think they go with outfits, but the outfits might not be sized for a newborn.

It doesn't help that we've been going a little overboard on clothes, especially after we found out it was a boy. And we found out a bad time I think, because everything's all summery, and he's not due until November. I've been trying to guess what size he'll be either when we go on vacation in the spring, or next summer. I can't wait until cold weather clothes are on the shelves again :D.

@Mrs. Pen: This is how I shop now too. I only buy her stuff one season in advance. Sometimes I'll buy up a sie if I find a good deal though.

Once you start using them it is easier!! I try to keep tabs on it, but it's been easier after the first year because I don't buy so much in advance anymore. I bought so much while pregnant for the first year, once we hit 9-12 months I started having to go out and buy his clothes and now I just buy a new haul each season.

I have a vague idea about the clothing we have.

With our two older boys, I can tell you that once you start using them it will become a lot easier to remember what you've got!

Oh yeah, I always forget about stuff I bought! It is quite fun though :)

My worst problem is when I get out outfits in the next size up because she's starting to outgrow her current rotation, some of the 6-9 months fit more like a 3-6 months, so it's already too small! :( I'm learning from my error though, and having the next size up in rotation now too

Well, LO isn't here yet, and I actually haven't bought any clothes for the baby yet since I'm having a shower in two weeks and I have lots of hand me downs. BUT, I did wash all the hand me downs that are size 6 months or smaller and organized them in the dresser so it's easier to see what I have already. I was in a fit of nesting so they got really organized, by size and type: Newborn onesies, Newborn sleepers, 0-3 onesies, 0-3 sleepers, 0-3 tops or bottoms; 3-6 onesies... and so on. So I can look in the drawer and at least see how much is in each. After my shower I'll wash the smallest stuff and just organize the rest so I can see how big each section is. Oh and the sections are labeled with index cards-- total nesting mode.

I find items I forgo about all the time! Or sometimes I find things that I had previously though were a different size and now have missed our opportunity to dress her in them. When we ttc #2, i really hope we have another girl because it would be such a shame to waste all this great stuff.

This is a really random question!! Just for fun, really!

I'm just going through all my baby clothes, trying to get an idea of what we have got and what we need to buy. I'm taking 7 months off work and money is going to be tight during the last 4 months, so we have bought a few items of clothing in 3-6 and 6-9 sizes to have handy for when LO starts growing.

As I am going through all the bits and pieces, there are loads of items of clothing that I had forgotten I'd bought!! It's quite enjoyable, really! But there are plenty of items that don't really go with anything as well (in a little outfit kind of way)!! Oops!! Oh well, I may have to go shopping again...!! :-)

I am just feeling right now that I will never have a good grasp of what we do and don't have, especially as she will be growing out of things so quickly!!

Once you start using the clothing, is it easier?!! Or do you find items of clothing that you had forgotten about regularly?!! Can you keep up with what item of clothing is in what size - or does all that stop mattering once the baby is here?!!
