My son wasn't feeling well this morning and I am here at work because he is able to be with my retired parents. They also do a ton for me on regular days, my dad picks my son up from school every single day of the week. My friend came over to watch my daughter but I felt so bad asking. I can so clearly remember a similar situation when I was young and my mom had to take my sister to the ER. She called my aunt to go with her because she was 2 minutes away. And our daycare rocks. And my work is really family friendly and nobody minds if I have to bring a sick kid in for an hour or two, or work from home. But they all have local family so they don't really get it.... A few weeks in a jam I had to take my son to the ER and my daughter was in bed and my husband was at work.
