I never shop and it's sad :( ok, not really sad but I would love to, I am just kind of a tight wad. I did just go wild at H&M for LO but she needed larger items for summer and it was wonderful.

I really enjoy shopping at the stores but don't enjoy online shopping at all. I always wait for sales and good deals but the exceptions are her shoes since I need it in current sizing. I can't seem to find the ones I like on sale so I buy her shoes as needed. Most of my fun money goes to DD's wardrobe but I'll be sizing up from now on to help it last longer. Her growth has been consistently at 50% on the charts.

I sold 5 boxes of clothes for 180$, and then turned around and spent 72$ of that on new clothes. To be fair though, lo1 needed pants and pjs in the next size up.

@blackbird: I can do the basics but I need someone to sit down with me and walk me through a pattern. I want to learn! I loooove harem shorts on B.

I've been doing some product trades for shorts but I still catch myself getting sucked in to buying absurdly priced shorts and justifying it as supporting another mom. :bummed:

@Ra: Can you sew at all? shorts are *so absurdly easy* to make. I have a feeling it'll be my addiction this summer. But yeah, $30 for a pair of shorts that took 30 minutes to make and $5 worth of fabric is not something I can stomach!

@shopaholic: I think I'd feel less guilty if I was shopping at Baby Gap or Carters or something because at least then you are getting deals. I spend a good portion of the day on IG because of W&H so I mostly shop small snd that can get ridiculously expensive. $30 on a pair of shorts?! Really? Yet I can't stop because it's sooooo cute.

Not at all, I hate shopping and rarely buy me or LO clothes, unless we actually need something, and then it's something practical and inexpensive. She ruins all her clothes by playing/etc so I always buy just practical play clothes when I do. I'm not a shopper though. Hate it!

@Anagram: I totally agree with your comment that "free triumphs style for a toddler" in my mind as well. I was raised with parents that could have afforded to buy me new clothes but it wasn't a priority. Everything I wore was a handmedown, gift, or consignment. This meant they prioritized traveling with us and saving for our college which are bigger financial priorities than clothes for us as well. We get a lot of gifts of clothes for her and when we need to supplement that we'll shop at Goodwill or yard sales during the summer. Definitely not judging people who buy cute clothes for their kids at all; that's great and your kid is likely better dressed than mine ;) It's just a personal/family priority.

Not anymore! Being married to my particular husband has really changed my views on shopping. He grew up in a developing country and is really good at pointing out how so many things I thought were necessary before are really "wants" and not necessary. I buy very little for LO--clothes or toys. We get a fair amount of handmedowns, because I have a 3 year old neice. I'd say 90% of LOs clothes are hand-me-downs or gifts and I've learned to appreciate those, even when they aren't my taste...just because free trumps style for a toddler.

I go through phases. I'll go months without buying (a ton). But then I'll shop a few days every week and have packages and bags for days on end. Happens a lot during winter time. And now with my belly getting bigger and having a baby in a different season.... And with DH going through a shopping for work clothes phase himself :silly:

I had been so good until recently when I placed 2 GAP orders but I pride myself on waiting for good sales and only buying sale items. Once I get a good deal it's a bit like a drug and I'm looking for the next one and I internet shop when I am bored.

I have a huge amount of items (50) in my GAP cart just waiting for good sales.

I love shopping for E!!!

The problem is (and this is a first world problem if ever I heard one), we are up to our ears in gifted clothes so E is usually dressed head to foot in things I haven't chosen for her and I only really get to buy her practical stuff like vests and PJs! Man, that kid has a lot of cute PJs!!

I'm having a very hard time with DD1 being super picky, currently she'll only wear one dress (I've hidden it a few times too), or leggings with a t-shirt. None of the cute sweaters or long sleeve shirts. I went a little overboard with Crewcuts and she despises it all :bummed:

Dd2 is inbetween sizes and so I'm a little weary on buying her too much right now.

I'm super stoked about garage season this year, that will hopefully curb my spending spree!

It waxes and wanes depending on how busy my schedule is. Lately I've been working too much to even grocery shop... I'd like to think it all balances out :silly: I loooove to bargain hunt though, I really enjoy trying to find a good sale.

It also goes right along with my mood, summer time is worse for me since it is unlivable outside, so we go to the air conditioned stores to get out of the house instead of the zoo like we do in the winter.

Ugh! We saved everything from LO1, so in theory I don't need anything for LO2, except a few things to fill in some seasonal gaps, it's so hard!

I'm guilty of buying things that don't fit well or LO decides she doesn't like and never returning them too.

@Mae: same here! And then I realized LO1 was so tough on his clothes (especially since he didn't have that many and they were washed frequently) that a lot of stuff wasn't in great hand me down shape. But kids clothes are kind of meant to get dirty, so whatever!

I really hate spending money on the bigger items - coats, shoes, when they will get worn so few times.

I don't think we have a ton of clothes and so much of it doesn't get worn anyway. Whenever I go to pack up clothes they have grown out of, I find a few shirts that haven't been worn.

I am excited about easter outfits though!

I sort of have the opposite problem! I want to be the mom who has a kid that is always perfectly dressed but I can't help but think how fast she grows out of everything and how everything seems like such a huge waste of money. I tend to only buy what she really needs and do that begrudgingly lol. I think when she is a little older and not outgrowing sizes every 3 months I will probably be more into shopping.

I spend a lot of money on both of my girls. I have a million ways to justify it. Today I got a F&F coupon for Gap and I hit the outlet and went nuts. I also have a weakness for matching smocked stuff. I like to buy DD1 the Big Girl smocked dresses and then the matching smocked bubble for DD2. Justification is that this is the only time I'll get to dress them like this, haha.

Between buying for them and buying house stuff, I'm kind of a monster:)

I did a $130 Gymboree order last month and a $100 tea collection in dec. All stuff on sale but still! The Gymboree one I probably wouldn't have done if I wasnt on bed rest... And talking about this makes me wanna shop! Terrible!
