I was adamant we have one for the 9-1-1 factor heaven forbid. That way they know our exact address if a call comes in, versus cellphone a 400m or so radius.</p> <p>We had issues with our provider in the summer and it went out on us, and my "thing" about landline to hubby was that it never went out. Well didn't it go out for two days, completely our provider's fault, and they couldn't tell me why so I called to cancel. It's mainly for our alarm system, but I have noticed that I do miss certain cell phone calls in parts of the house, so I like to have the landline for that. Recently, I had to call the doctor emergency line for my son and I missed all the calls from the doctor to my cell phone, they didn't ring at all! How much is it per month? </p> <p>We haven't had a land line in years, but we always lived in the city with excellent cell reception. I can't get cell service in our house- only standing on a hill in our backyard- and wifi calling is spotty. So I don't feel comfortable being home all day with two small kids without immediate, reliable access to phone service. But Comcast wants an extra $35 a month? </p> <p>We are exploring our options now. Wondering what others do and how much. </p>
