Since we live in a small apartment and can hear a cell phone ringing from all the rooms, it didn't make sense to add a land line. Not for lack of trying on our cable company's part, they send us the damn offer every. single. week.</p> <p>I do agree with @Beebug: and @apis: though. We don't like giving our cell numbers out willy nilly.</p> <p>It's pretty sucky quality though, but it's almost free (it's like $5 a month). I mainly use it for long distance calls but we have it for emergencies in the event that one of us or both or whatever doesn't have a cell phone. I feel more comfortable with them. </p> <p>Also, I'm pretty sure that they help police locate you faster if it's from a landline. With no power, we couldn't charge cellphones, computers or iPads, and of course the cable modem went dead, so we had no communications.
