I love 'em. I have geraniums and an african violet, a lipstick plant, a cyclemen, a sansevaria, and a basil plant. And also a spider plant that tried to commit suicide by jumping off the wall last year. It hasn't recovered yet.</p> <p>I second @Mrs. Tricycle's suggestion. It's also called a Sansevaria or Mother-in-law's Tongue. Super-hard to kill. I have had mine since I was a teenager and I'd forget about it for months. Most of mine get watered once every two weeks. Should be once a week, but I forget. Another good one is Cyclamen, because all it's flowers droop down when it's thirsty, but then when you water it, it perks up and comes back to life. A key lime and meyer lemon tree in the sunroom (I water them when the leaves start to look a little droopy and have pruned them once or twice), a couple orchids throughout the home, and some olive trees in the foyer. To my surprise, the orchids and citrus trees rebloomed!
