I used to think so. But lately has been tough. Tonight had been worst yet. He woke up after 40 mins and fought me for the next two hours. Had to nurse him down and sleep with him in the guest room, and we almost never cosleep. Nursed again around midnight. He just woke up again and I put him back in his crib, which he is rolling around completely awake. Sigh.

LO is a great sleeper, has basically slept through 8pm - 7am from 4 weeks. It has absolutely, positively NOTHING to do with anything DH or I have done. In fact I would have to say that we have a good sleeper in spite of our actions.

So I firmly believe that some LOs come out of the womb as good sleepers and the others just need a helping hand to become good sleepers.

i hope i don't jinx myself, but yes i think he is a naturally good sleeper. my husband thinks we sleep trained him, but in actuality although we did do a couple of things to get him on a schedule (same bedtime and wakeup times each day, dream feeds until he was 4 months), he always slept pretty well and we never had to cry it out or do anything else. i can count on my hands the number of times he's woken up in the night and those are always related to teething or being sick. since he was about 12 weeks he has slept from 7-7. i need a lot of sleep myself to feel human so i am so so so grateful. his naps were also pretty good until recently when he moved to one nap. now it's kind of hit or miss where he'll take anywhere from an hour to three hour nap, but he does best when he takes a long nap. but his nighttime sleep has always been good, and i am hopeful it stays this way!

She's a good sleeper at night. She's slept 12 hours since 2 1/2 months. During the day.... she's not the best napper.

She's OK, we haven't made really any improvements since she was a newborn though. 11 pm - 5 am have been solid hours since she was born, but around those hours there tends to be more chaos. Not a lot of chaos but just she wakes up more.

My child is an awful sleeper and we didn't do anything to fix it. Sad. Next time, we're sleep training!

I do believe there is such a thing talking to parents of naturally good sleepers! Alas Charlie and Olive are not. But Charlie did become a good sleeper post sleep training.

Do you have a naturally good sleeper, or do you think your LO became a good sleeper because of how you raised them?
