Do people have opinions between the Beco Gemini and Ergo? Those are the 2 I've narrowed it down to but can't decide.

@Ohapostrophe yes!! The Beco Gemini is much better than the bjorn!! The weight is more distributed on your hips, not your shoulders.

While you can face the baby out in the Gemini though be warned that the manufacturers only advise doing this sparingly and only for about 20 mins at a time if that. They say babies facing out with their legs dangling could be harmful, and facing inward is best.

You might also want to check out the Ergo too! That and the Gemini are our faves in this household!!

Wore the moby when she was a newborn cause it felt more secure than the bjorn but only at home since the fabric is cumbersome. Wore her in the bjorn active from 2-4 mos, then she got a bit too heavy for my back. Then bought a bjorn comfort carrier and wore her in that from 4 mos to 8 mos. Once she able to crawl, she didn't really want to be strapped in anymore so we stopped using a carrier. Plus, it was summertime and it was a little warm in the carrier. She just rides in her stroller now. Might put her back in the bjorn comfort carrier once it cools down a bit.......if she'll let me, lol.

Loved loved loved the Moby when my daughter was a newborn. Made life so much easier to wear her and be completely hands-free to take care of/play with my toddler. Now that she's bigger and can hold her head up, we use the Ergo.

@nycalimama is the beco gemini much better on your shoulders than the bjorn? I've never heard of it and it looks great! I used to really love the bjorn, but as my 6 month old gets heavier it's kind of a killer on my back. Also I'd love the option to back carry.

I got the ergo from my registry from the very beginning. It was okay, but I never loved it as much as everyone who recommended it seemed to. I also had the moby, I only got to use it for a short while as I think it didn't feel sturdy enough once DD got heavier and bigger. The fabric gave in way too much, she was sagging. I didn't want the Bjorn because I heard too many things about it hurting your shoulder and back and truthfully, I never liked how that thing hangs down the front and middle like a loin cloth. It's the single weirdest thing I've seen baby product wise. I ended getting a Belle baby carrier. I loved how easy it was to use and it was front and rear facing depending on how you needed it and it was also hip carry. Only negative thing was the top part of the carrier where it indents down for the baby to see was cut too high, it was always covering half her face. My mom swears by her old school chinese Mai Tai that my grandma just sewed together with left over fabric and passed down now.

The Ergo has been a lifesaver to me since the day we got back from the hospital! N is now 9 months and I still use it!

I tried the Mobywrap but it was too much material for me. I also wasn't doing it right cuz it never felt secure enough. I also tried the Baby K'tan but I've come to the conclusion that N was just not a big fan of slings.

I had the Moby for when E was really little. She liked it for a while but not when the weather got hot. Now we use the Baby Bjorn Comfort Carrier and love it!

I used the Moby at first, but then a friend gave me her Bjorn and I loved it. Now that S is much bigger, I'll probably start using the Ergo. When he was little, that one was jsut a bit too much.

I love my Moby more than life itself...but I'm tall, so I can get it on without it hitting the floor. After the Moby, we graduated to the Storchenwiege, which is a wonderful upgrade. The fabric is stronger, but gets sooooooo soft with more use. I wore Little G for over a year with the Storch.

Also, we had the Lillebaby, but sold it because the back panel wasn't long enough to hold Little G in when he would try to push out.

I love the Ergo with the infant insert! It was our go to item when taking Elliot out of the house in those early months. Now the only way for him to take a nap when we're out is if he's in the Ergo with a pacifier (the only time he uses one).

I like the Ergo, but if I had to buy over again, I'd get a Beco, because it can be used with the child forward facing out.

eta: the Bjorn isn't recommended, as it dangles the child by the crotch.

I have a ring sling and the ergo. I never got the hang of using the ring sling with my son because he hated it. I use it now with my daughter but it still takes me a while to get her adjusted in it. I love the ergo. For awhile, it was the only way I was able to get my son to nap. I held off buying the infant insert for my son but caved this time around with my daughter. I mostly use the ring sling at home and the ergo when I go out.
I was eyeing the beco as well, mostly because of their pretty fabric but couldn't bring myself to get another carrier because I'm already perfectly happy with the ergo.

I feel like Olive is too tiny to put in a stroller, so I'm going to wear her in a sling for awhile when we need to go out. I had the Moby Wrap with Charlie but gave it away because it was too complicated for me. I also have the Maya Ring Sling and a Kangaroo Korner Sling, and an Ergo, Lillebaby and Bjorn.

I used the Ergo and Lillebaby most but never really used my slings. Do you have a sling or carrier that you loved?
