I end up drinking so much more water than I would if it were flat water or even seltzer that I'd bought. I also use it to water down juices, so my sugar intake has also decreased a lot! I often boil the ginger w/ the sugar water until the sugar dissolves, then let the ginger steep. I strain it, then add it to carbonated water, to taste. I realized quickly that my diet coke addiction is actually just a carbonation addiction so I drink FAR less soda. It's so freeing to be able to pass right by the soda aisle at the grocery store. It makes my grocery load so much lighter, not to mention our garbage/recycling!! I've tried all the sample flavors the sodastream came with but so far I like it plain the best!</p> <p>We have a water filter in our fridge dispenser so we keep a big pitcher of water chilling all the time. Makes for quick sodastream and keurig refilling. </p> <p>I got the LX model which has a CO2 canister twice the size of the regular ones, but it's been discontinued and the seller we bought it from on Amazon has been basically blacklisted by sodastream and they won't honor the warranty if you bought it from that seller. But the seller sent us a new one when ours stopped working and that one is going ok so far. They offered us a replacement or a refund, and we asked if we could take a replacement and if that failed, if we could get a refund then, and they said yes. I love it because I drink a ton of carbonated water. Ever since I got pregnant, still water makes me nauseous.</p> <p>The only thing I don't love about it it having to pick up new CO2 tanks at Target. They are only $15 when you trade in your old one, but there's basically no warning when it runs out. Sometimes it takes me a few days to make it over to Target, depending on how busy I am. I suppose I could buy an extra tank, but that's $30. </p>
