My mom has always been my backup daycare and when we were going through a rough patch, she often shifted her whole schedule around to try and help us out. They're very thoughtful and considerate. My mom is always my first call when something goes wrong, or I need parenting/sick child advice. And my son just adores them - he constantly asks to go to their house. She lives with us now, though, and helps me with Evan (D works second shift, so she helps with dinner/bedtime), and she'll be watching LO2 when she gets here so we can avoid doubling up on daycare costs. </p> <p>My dad is a manipulative jerk, and we are as good as estranged. She offered to keep watching her so that we could put her in daycare part-time for an easier transition (for DD and my bank account). </p> <p>Since DD had been sick, she stayed over last night (DH away), and offered to watch her the whole day today. THEN, DD gave her the stomach virus and she threw up all night and she's STILL watching my baby all day. She's so tired that she had to call my dad to come over so she could take a nap. I feel soooo bad :sad: </p> <p>DH still isn't home and I'm stuck at work (not to mention I already took half a day since I had to get DD from daycare when she got sick). </p> <p>So yeah, the whole point is that I am so so so so so thankful for my parents, especially today. </p>
