I once spent 3 hours straight playing the beginner level of minesweeper trying to beat my own time (6 seconds is my all-time best!). Then whenever I got a new computer I had to get my new record. Mostly it involves my need to be in control or compulsion to finish things. Like an entire bag of Riesens. Or enough Oreos to make all the rows even. Or to achieve certain things on my toon/character in a game (I am a secret gamer-and I am really good!). I can't wait to play again, when LO starts sleeping more/better. I've done plenty of experimenting with substances, and drank too much during late high-school/ college, but have always been able to walk away when I need to. I did smoke, and have trouble quitting, but that was a chemical dependence issue- not a personality one. I smoked for several years before I really developed dependence.</p> <p>I work in substance abuse treatment, and am still amazed I walked away from my wild years without an addiction. The differences between people are incredible.
