We don't feel a thing (I've slept with her in it many times). We're very happy with it! We have the Hemnes, which pulls out into a king. </p> <p>We bought two thinner foam mattresses at Ikea, and that's great for when it's just a daybed/couch. It's not uncomfortable when they are separated for sleeping, but it's not the best. It was inexpensive, cute and pulled out into a king bed.</p> <p>But it wasn't super comfortable as a king. We had to get fairly thin mattresses, otherwise when it's a twin it gets too high. I liked the look of having the pillows at the back, instead of having a person stuck on the inside. But without enough mattress toppers/height, you can feel the cross bar.
