A friend of mine used to hate kids because his older sister asked him to babysit her kids a lot (poor guy, I feel for him!) When it's just one or two, I love it. But we recently went to a birthday party for our friends' two year old and there were like 20 kids. I was miserable!! I'm sure being pregnant and feeling hot and irritable and claustrophobic didn't help, but all I kept thinking about was all the screaming and running. Pricked all of my introvert sensitivities!! I don't. I love my own to the moon and back, but I find other people's kids loud and over excited and in-your-face. From the look on friends faces I think my kids have scared a few childless people off, they are very social and loving but can be a bit wild so kidless people who engage them for too long usually end up overwhelmed with questions and imaginative play instructions and keeping track of their running.
